Launch of New Simulation Equipment

The University of Nairobi School of Nursing today received simulation equipment from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in collaboration with Johnson and Johnson and the Ministry of Health-Kenya. This comes as a great boost to their already existing simulation lab.

Simulation has been approved as a safer method to train and equip students before they encounter real patients. In line with the government’s health coverage target, there is need to have already qualified and student healthcare providers to be skilled in modern forms of diagnosis and treatment such as simulation.

The new equipment is meant to elevate the status of the nursing school to a training centre for simulation around the region. This is surely a great step to achieving skilled nurses and midwives.
