Professor Sinegugu E. Duma of Division of Nursing and Midwifery School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Cape town, South Africa visited the School of Nursing Sciences from 22nd -26th February 2016.
She is an award winner of JPIEGO grant for mentorship of nurses in HIV/AIDSART management in primary care (among others), she is also a grounded theory research method specialist.
The main purpose of the visit was to supervise school of Nursing Sciences PhD (VCT) student (who is also a Lecturer at the School) currently conducting studies using grounded theory methodology
Prof. Duma made a presentation to members of staff on the use of grounded theory methodology in developing conceptual models for nursing practice.
The staff members benefited from the case approach in grounded theory data analysis since it was the first visit of this kind to the School.
