The NUNSA/AMSUN joint symposium on sexual gender based violence was held on 1st of December 2016 in the School of Nursing –College of health Sciences.
The symposium brought together stakeholders from different sectors to tackle the issues of; effective management of sexual gender based violence. The nursing and medical students who attended the event were empowered and adequately informed on the subject.
The speakers who came from different sectors involved in the management of sexual gender based violence Included;
The event which was attended by 110 nursing students, and 90 medical students took place form 10AM. – 2PM.
Three students were awarded for winning an innovative essay challenge titled “Upscale of Multi-sector management of victims of Sexual Gender Based Violence in Kenya” that had been running for a few days leading to the event. The students received price money and a certificate of merit, they include:
