Department of Nursing Sciences receives donation of Ambu bags
The University of Nairobi’s (UoN) Department of Nursing Sciences received a donation of three Ambu bags from Regina Lau, a Primary Health Care Nurse from Australia.

University of Nairobi nursing students participated in a career talk on international nursing opportunities, with a special focus on Austria, during a session held on Tuesday, 10th February 2026.
The Department of Nursing Sciences hosted the point of care ultrasound training from 19th to 27th March, 2024.
The training was sponsored by the Philips Company and facilitated by RAD-AID.ORG Radiology.
The training attracted 22 learners who were trained in both class theory and practical sessions. The participants included Kenyatta National Hospital labor ward staff, Mbagathi Hospital staff, and University of Nairobi lecturers.
In January 2024 the department of nursing sciences received student from USA University of Winsconsin-milkl Waukee.
During the 70th Graduation Ceremony of UON, The DNS had one phd Graduand 16 Masters Graduant and 117 Undergraduate.
The University of Nairobi School of Nursing today received simulation equipment from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in collaboration with Johnson and Johnson and the Ministry of Health-Kenya. This comes as a great boost to their already existing simulation lab.
Dr. Monica Adhiambo Onyango is a Kenya registered nurse/ midwife and an alumnus of the Department of Nursing Sciences currently Clinical Associate Professor and Director, Global Health Certificate course at Boston University School of Public Health.
The exchange program between the University of Nairobi, Department of Nursing Sciences and
Columbia University was a highly anticipated and successful initiative that aimed to foster cross-
cultural learning and collaboration between nursing students from both institutions. The program
spanned six weeks and concluded on May 12th, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.
