Midwifery, Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing Thematic Unit provides a course in two units as an integral part of Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Year II and III second as part of the course for both the direct entry students and the RN-BSc.N (upgrading) programmes.
The Department of Nursing Sciences in partnership with the University Health Services (UHS),
conducted a free Community Health Camp Targeting University of Nairobi staff and students on 19th May, 2022..
The objective was in line with the University’s Community and Social responsibility
The specific services/ activities offered/ carried out include;
1) Screening for diabetes and hypertension
2) Covid 19 vaccination
3) Screening for weight and Obesity
4) Breast and Cervical cancer screening
Emergency care skills are essential in saving lives whenever emergencies occur to individuals, be they clients in hospital or community members; in the office, while on transit, at home, or field among others.
There is a huge gap of emergency skills among health care and emergency evacuation workers that requires deliberate action to narrow the gap in our country.
