
The Nairobi University Nursing Students Association (NUNSA) is the official student-led organization representing all nursing students at the University of Nairobi. Established to serve as a unifying voice and advocate for nursing learners, NUNSA champions academic excellence, student welfare, leadership development, and ethical nursing practice. The association is governed by an elected executive council and works closely with faculty, alumni, and national nursing bodies to advance the interests of nursing students both within and beyond the university.
NUNSA is a vibrant, inclusive, and visionary student body committed to nurturing holistic nursing professionals. It organizes mentorship programs, clinical support initiatives, talent development, and mental wellness forums. Under the current 2025/2026 regime led by Chairperson ISRAEL ALEX MAKORI, NUNSA has launched impactful projects that promote student growth. This leadership has set a legacy focused on access, empowerment, and service.
NUNSA operates under the Department of Nursing in the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Nairobi. It is affiliated with and collaborates with national and professional bodies including the Nurses Chapter of the University of Nairobi Students Association (UNSA), the National Nurses Association of Kenya (NNAK), and the Kenya Students and Novice Nurses Network (KESNNUR). NUNSA also engages with alumni, donors, and healthcare institutions to promote student growth, welfare, and professional readiness.
