University of Nairobi (UoN) moved its operations (that included teaching and learning) to online mode from mid March 2020 when the President pronounced a lockdown due to COVID-19 that devastated the whole world.

With the recent announcement of resumption of face to face learning by the UoN administration, and in line with the national guidelines, the School of Nursing Sciences (SONS) is working towards ensuring everyone’s safety within the school environment upon reopening.

Javan Waita, an alumnus of School of Nursing Sciences, on behalf of Franchise & Partnerships, PS KENYA, and in his capacity as the RH Clinical Coordinator, donated hand washing station equipment and hand sanitizers to the SONS as part of preparation for the resumption of face to face learning at the school.

In addition, SONS staff received branded T-shirts “Tunza family network’” and “USAID”, Partners of PS Kenya and key holders. The event took place on 2nd November 2020 at the SONS, Kenyatta Hospital Campus, UON. On site to receive the donations were the Director, SONS Dr. Wagoro and academic members of staff representing the school Dr. Omondi, Dr. Kirui, Dr. Odero and Dr. Kamau.
