Emergency care skills are essential in saving lives whenever emergencies occur to individuals, be they clients in hospital or community members; in the office, while on transit, at home, or field among others.

There is a huge gap of emergency skills among health care and emergency evacuation workers that requires deliberate action to narrow the gap in our country.

The Department of Nursing sciences held a farewell lunch in honor of  Dr Waithira Mirie  who proceeded on early retirement

Dr. Waithera Mirie was hailed as a great mentor, researcher, and teacher. A great team player and leader, Dr. Mirie left a mark in the Department/ formerly school of Nursing sciences where she served for over 20 years. The younger lecturers hailed her for her mentorship and reminisced how she watched them grow and molded them as early as their first year of training.
