The department of Nursing Sciences received six exchange students from Columbia School of Nursing on the 10th April 2026.

Speaking at the orientation session, Prof. Kivuti Bitok officially welcomed the students and oriented them to the faculty and school’s academic and clinical program.

Prof. Bitok also took them through the expected code of conduct, how to adapt to their new training and clinical environments and how to navigate the complexities of a different cultural setting professionally.

During the interactive sessions, the students also interacted with some local nursing students presenting their expectations for their 5week program.

The orientation session culminated in the students being showed around campus and the Kenyatta National Hospital to help them get acquainted with their new training environment.

The exchange program is meant to provide a collaborative learning and networking experience between the students from Columbia School of Nursing and University of Nairobi.
