This year’s pinning and candle lighting ceremony for BSc Nursing finalists was a colorful and cheerful as the students set out to serving as qualified nurses.

This ceremony was termed as a rite of passage for nursing students who have been successfully prepared and ready to serve humanity.

SoNS alumnus joins mentorship program in Geneva

Rashid Salim, an alumnus of the School of Nursing has been admitted to a mentorship program at the International Council of Nurses (ICN) in Geneva.

Rashid made his submission to be a member of the ICN Nursing Student Steering Group and was selected as a successful candidate.

He will work together with other members to strengthen the nursing student influence in the work of ICN in global health and nursing policy.

First Lady calls on governments to invest more in nursing services

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta challenged governments to invest more resources in public health nursing so as to achieve aspirations of high quality healthcare provision for all.

According to the First Lady, public health nursing is central to the functioning of any health system and should therefore be adequately resourced in terms of manpower, equipment and continuous capacity building.

Clinical induction and mentorship on soft skills for BSCN year III students

The Midwifery/ Obstetrics Nursing Thematic Unit  held its inaugural soft skills mentorship for BSc. Nursing Year III students who are expected to proceed for clinical rotations placement in various hospitals in Nairobi County. 

This was held in the School of Nursing Sciences  Lecture room 3 on Wednesday 13th March, 2019 at 12.00 noon.
